Free sound tools for stress, sleep and skin.

Four players made by the app’s own sound engine, each giving you one ingredient on its own: a tone or a beat, with a timer, and the evidence written plainly beside it. Press play, see whether you like the sound, and read what has actually been measured. They work on the stress-and-sleep side of skin, which is where the research sits and where skin does its repairing, and each page says what has been measured.

528 Hz for skin: a free player, and what the evidence says

Binaural beats for skin: a free player and the evidence

7.83 Hz binaural beat: a free player, and what listening does

Delta sleep sounds for skin repair: a free player, and why deep sleep builds collagen

One ingredient on each page

A routine in the Skin Resonance app is built from a binaural beat on a low carrier tone, which is the part with trial evidence for stress and sleep, a brown-noise bed under everything that covers the room, and steady solfeggio tones as steps of their own between the beats, there because they are pleasant to hold for ten minutes and give each stage a character. The routines sequence those steps for a skin concern, thirty-five to seventy minutes at a time, and end with a fade so you can let them carry you into sleep.

The tools here take the layers apart. The 528 Hz page plays the tone by itself. The binaural page plays one beat at a time, at alpha, theta or delta, on the carriers the app uses, with a readout of what each ear is getting. The 7.83 Hz page is the settling-in step from the evening routines on its own, and the delta page is the last step, the one that goes with deep sleep. Each has a timer that stops, no noise bed and no sequence, so you can hear what an ingredient is before you decide whether you want the recipe. The free ten-minute routine plays the recipe, and the app has fourteen of them.

Before you press play

Start at a low volume and keep it where you could still hear someone speak to you; there is no benefit in turning any of these up. The three binaural players need headphones, and each has a Speakers switch that plays the beat as a pulse in a single tone instead, the way the app does out loud. Do not listen while driving or using machinery. If you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, tinnitus or a hearing condition, or you are pregnant, ask the professional who looks after you before adding audio stimulation, and stop if anything feels uncomfortable. The listening safely questions say more, and how we read a study explains the standard every evidence section on this site is held to.

Frequently asked

Are these tools free?+

Yes, all four, with no sign-up and no card. They run in your browser and make the sound on your own device, so nothing is streamed or downloaded. They ask for nothing but headphones on the three binaural pages.

What is the difference between the tools and the app?+

Each tool plays one ingredient, a single tone or a single beat, with a timer that stops. The app plays the recipe: 7.83 Hz, theta and delta beats over a brown-noise bed, with solfeggio tones as steps of their own, in a sequence built for a skin concern, thirty-five to seventy minutes long, with a builder for your own. The free ten-minute routine on the try page plays the recipe, so you can hear both before paying anything.

Do I need headphones?+

For the binaural pages, yes: a binaural beat exists only when each ear hears its own tone. Those pages also offer a Speakers switch that plays the beat as a pulse in one tone, the way the app does out loud. The 528 Hz tone sounds the same either way.

Can these tools help my skin?+

Through the route the whole site is built on. Sound reaches skin by way of the ear and the nervous system: lower stress and deeper sleep give skin calmer conditions to repair in, and both of those links have research behind them. The sound end is the newer and smaller part of that research, which each page sets out plainly, and the skin end is where it leads.
